Computer Editing Basics (Photoshop and Lightroom)

The day will consist of a morning session, a lunch break and an afternoon session. Due to the nature of the course and the diverse needs and abilities within the group we will work in the direction of each students needs after a brief introduction on to both Lightroom and Photoshop.

Lunch is included, however, people with special dietary requirements are encouraged to bring their own. Coffee, tea and water provided.

If you've already purchased Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Lightroom and want to know how to begin editing your photos, this workshop is for you. You can purchase a free 30 day trial of the programs from the Adobe website to try but must be active and downloaded prior to the workshop.

This workshop will help you:
  • Learn how to transfer your photos from your camera to your laptop;
  • Learn how to effectively organise and file your images on your hard drive;
  • Learn how to back up your image files;
  • Learn how to improve your images with basic editing tools in the Photoshop and Lightroom and some tricks for bulk editing;
  • Tutorial basics of the programs;
  • One on one editing photos with the program of your choice (Lightroom, Photoshop or both);
  • Instruction on basic image manipulating with Photoshop.

You will need to bring:
  • Your DSLR with a fully charged battery and relevant cords to connect to your laptop
  • Personal images to edit in the workshop
  • A memory card (Optional: card reader, if you have one)
  • Laptop and charger
  • Either: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Lightroom already purchased and installed on your laptop
  • Pen and paper to take notes
